We kicked off the new year with a networking happy hour and panel on What\u2019s in-store for Ecommerce in 2020<\/em> at our headquarters in Austin, Texas. There was delicious food, drinks and a great deal of networking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the panel we had our partners Retail Global<\/a>, SkuVault<\/a>, LinnWorks<\/a>, EasyPayDirect<\/a> and Gotham City Online<\/a> contribute to the discussion of 2020 ecommerce predictions. A few of the topics that were covered in the panel include: brand strategy, shopping through social media, growth in customizable products, flexible payment options, interactive product visualization and rise in mobile shopping. \u201cAmazon has fended off a lot of competitors over the years, but they haven\u2019t faced someone quite like Google. Google has deep market penetration with consumers and sellers, and as a result, is well positioned to gain momentum quickly. Consumers often start their product searches on Google, for this reason Google is able to act as a market place and make the check-out process seamless. They are able to do this through multiple fronts, shoppable image search and YouTube, to name a few. So we see Google being a real player against Amazon in 2020.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe know competing against Amazon is a losing battle. So what you\u2019ll see in 2020 is speciality markets starting to differentiate themselves. There are thousands of products but what consumers really want is an experience. That is why personalization is so important. Having shoppable images is a great way to do this.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
